Session Boundaries & Working Together

Therapy is most effective when it takes place within clear, respectful, and consistent boundaries. These guidelines exist to support a safe, reliable, and ethical therapeutic space for both of us.

They are not intended to feel restrictive, but to provide clarity, transparency, and shared understanding.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, at least 24 hours notice is appreciated whether possible. This allows the time to be offered to another client.

Late cancellation or missed sessions may be charged, except in situations involving genuine emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. These situations are always considered with care, discretion, and understanding.

If you’re unsure whether something qualifies as an emergency, you’re welcome to ask.

  • Therapeutic support takes place primary within scheduled sessions.

Brief practical messages - such as scheduling changes or technical issues - are welcome. Ongoing therapeutic support, processing, or crisis support is not provided via email or messaging between sessions.

If you find yourself needing urgent or immediate support, I will help you identity appropriate local or emergency resources.

  • All therapeutic work is offered with professional training, ethical standards, and informed consent.

My approach is collaborative and structured, typically working within a focused framework rather than open-ended therapy. Progress and suitability are reviewed together to ensure the work remains purposeful, supportive, and aligned with your goals.

  • You remain in control of the therapeutic process at all times.

All approaches - including clinical hypnotherapy- are discussed openly and introduced only when appropriate to your goals, with your full understanding and agreement. Alternative approaches are always available.

Questions, feedback, or concerns about how we work together are always welcome and encouraged.

  • These boundaries exist to create a space that feels safe, reliable, and respectful.

Therapy is a shared process, and clarity around how we work together helps support trust, focus, and meaningful progress.

If you have any questions about these boundaries, I’m always happy to talk them through with you.
