You may find yourself repeatedly returning to habits or behaviours that no longer serve you, even when part of you wants things to change. At times, these behaviours may offer temporary relief, distraction or comfort, yet leave you feeling frustrated, stuck or disappointed afterwards.

Change is rarely about willpower alone. Repeated behaviours can become connected with habits, triggers, thoughts, emotions and learned patterns of responding, making them difficult to change even when you understand the consequences.

Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these patterns with curiosity rather than criticism. Together, we can look at what tends to trigger or maintain the behaviour, understand the role it may be playing in your life, and develop different ways of responding when familiar patterns arise.

My approach integrates Clinical Hypnotherapy with evidence-informed psychological, cognitive and behavioural approaches, tailored to your individual circumstances, needs and goals.

Where substance use or another behaviour involves dependence, withdrawal, significant risk or requires specialist addiction treatment, appropriate medical or specialist support may be needed alongside or instead of therapy.

Taking the Next Step

You don't have to navigate this on your own. If you'd like to explore whether my approach may be suitable for you, you're welcome to book an appointment.

We can discuss what you would like to change, the patterns you've noticed and what you hope to gain from therapy.

No two people experience these difficulties in exactly the same way. Therapy is tailored to your individual circumstances, goals and needs, within a supportive and confidential therapeutic relationship.
